Images of patches (vs. emblem art) may not be copied, downloaded, or otherwise used without the prior written permission of AAFM and the owner(s). Contrary to popular belief and statements accompanying certain images on Wikipedia pages, images of military organizational emblems are not in the public domain. Federal regulations prohibit “commercial reproduction of officially approved USAF emblems without the permission of the proponent organizational/unit commander.” For inactive units, permission should be requested from the Air Force Historical Research Agency. For personal, non-commercial use, if you have a need for a specific patch image, we gladly offer high-resolution scans for our AAFM members… just ask.
