Repost from the Quebec-01, Missile Alert Facility State Historic Site, Facebook page (with additional information provided by Monte Watts, AAFM Board Member).
AAFM Members, Jim Sorenson and Gus Parker, helped to coordinate with local landowner, plan the harvest, designed the sling to be used and drove to Harrisonville, MO to assist with the labor.
Another example of how AAFM and it's members are working to preserve the history of USAF missile systems. Well done gentlemen!

This weekend, Wyoming State Parks staff and volunteers traveled to Missouri to harvest an ISST for the Quebec 01 State Historic Site. The site has been missing this crucial piece of technology since it opened, but that will soon change.
The ISST (stands for ICBM SHF (Super High Frequency) Satellite Terminal) is now making its way back to Wyoming and back to Quebec 01 Missile Alert Facility where installation of the equipment will begin this week!
Our thanks to all who worked on this project! Make sure you stay tuned for Step 2: Installing the ISST at Quebec 01.
