485 TMW Alumni Association Reunion

1. We are putting together a team to finalize plans for the reunion and welcome volunteers to help.
2. We have already firmed up hotel accommodations with details as follows:
- Venue is the Holiday Inn on the Riverwalk
- A block of rooms has been reserved at the reduced price of $159/night (I know this may be a bit steep for some of us, but it is downtown in an excellent location and they can meet all of our needs - other options that may seem more affordable end up costing more when transportation to tourist venues are considered and traffic/parking downtown is a huge and costly mess)
o Hotel reservations can be made now by phone at: 877 424-2449 using group name “485TMW”
- There is parking on site for a reduced fee of $27/day with unlimited in and out trips
3. Tasks remaining to be completed include:
- Taking reservations and managing the funding account
- Making name tags and welcome packets
- Manning welcome table during check in
- Setting up and provisioning the meeting room (hospitality suite)
- Organizing day trips and providing information to attendees on options available; downtown walking/bus/river barge tours, botanical gardens (led by Dan Clark), SeaWorld, Blue Skies of Texas at Air Force Village (already arranged with hosted lunch on Friday), etc.
- Identifying/inviting a guest speaker for the banquet on Saturday night
- Researching and organizing transportation from the airport to the hotel for people flying in and flying out (shuttle/uber/taxi, etc. are pricey)
- Ensuring we have the necessary data for a members meeting (probably on Saturday morning)
