    Fellow Missileers:

The April 2022 AAFM newsletter is attached for your enjoyment.  Hopefully you saw my note that in December the Board of Directors approved moving our newsletter production to three times a year (April, August, and December) and providing additional news and stories via email blast in the other months. As a reminder, we welcome your inputs for the newsletter or the email updates.

There is a lot to cover in this month’s edition from the naming of the GBSD missile (“Sentinel”) to a strong defense of the Strategic Triad by Board Member and former 20 AF Commander Don Alston. It’s a long article but well worth the read!

Among our highlights in this edition Monte Watts recognizes our first set of AAFM scholarship winners, Linda Aldrich announces the start of our Missileers Hall of Fame, Brian Boner talks about the work behind Quebec 01, Matt Dillow shows us inside the Warren Heritage Museum, Bob Kelchner writes about how the Western Museum of Flight in Torrance, CA spent their AAFM Museum Grant funds last year and Dennis Brooke writes about taking Pizza Hut orders while on alert at Hotel 01 at Malmstrom AFB.

As always, we continue to look for volunteers (see our help wanted section) and highlight those who have passed in our Taps section.

Registration for the National Meeting and hotel reservations are open—just visit our website for additional information or see the registration form at the end of the newsletter.

As always, I welcome your comments and inputs.

Link to the Newsletter is here

    Sincerely,

    Jim
