In August 2009, the AAFM President, Executive Director and several members joined General Robert Kehler, Commander of AF Space Command, and AAFM member Lamberth Blalock, representing ATK, to dedicate the new display at Peterson. The display resulted in an effort by a number of defense contractors, AAFM and the command.
AAFM Member Ron Resh, who has since passed away, inititated projects for the memorials. The memorial at National Museum at Wright Patterson AFB was dedicated at the SAC Reunion in May 2008. A DVD of the ceremony is available at our Donations and store page. The memorial at the Strategic Air and Space Museum was dedicated in 2010.
in November 2005, AAFM and the Colorado Springs chapter of AFA unveiled and dedicated a new display in the Hartinger Building at Peterson AFB. The PBV hangs from the top of the atrium, pointing to earth, with one of the three reentry vehicles deployed slightly below the PBV.
